The RWI Phoenix Class is one of the newest lines of starships Red Wood Industries has produced. The class entered into service in 2732 and quickly became an important part of the RWI Fleet.
Description[]
With the decommissioning of the Heavy Assault Frigates, RWI Engineers recognized the importance of the Heavy Assault Frigate in the Fleet and sought to build a new assault frigate that featured similar designs to the previous model. While this version was smaller and lesser armed than the Heavy Assault Frigate, the Phoenix Class assault frigate was born and became the effective successor of the Reliant Class frigate. The Phoenix Class features an impressive main weapon along with speed and maneuverability to swiftly defeat enemies.
The Phoenix Class has become monumental in securing several victories, most notably against the Shadows in the RWI-Shadow War. Often deployed in small battlegroups, ships of this class are often used to conduct quick and efficient military operations.

When it became apparent to RWI CMD that the old "Defender" class frigates no longer served the needs of the RWI Navy a new ship class was designed and got the green light.
The Phoenix class is the proud production of the RWI Industrial Sector.

Subject: - New Frigate Class
Following the recent border skirmishes and last years decommissioning of the Heavy Frigate class, I've put in the request to the Engineering division to accelerate the launch of the new Phoenix class.
Taking inspiration from the Reliant’s command systems and her upgrades from the original wars, the Phoenix can operate on her own or apart of a Battle group. The ship can also escort other vessels and work in tight defense formations. I would recommend we place a few of these in the 3rd fleet to assist the RWI Osiris in her command operations.
We’ll also start to overhaul the other frigates designs in order to rebuild the Navy overall.

Launched in 2732, the Phoenix-class is one of RWI’s newest starships put into active service. Assigned to patrol and strike missions, ships of this class would find themselves working in small battlegroups to quickly and effectively eliminate threats and control situations.
With the decommissioning of the Heavy Assault Frigates, RWI Engineers recognized the importance of the Heavy Assault Frigate in the Fleet and sought to build a new assault frigate that featured similar designs to the previous model. One of the most infamous Heavy Assault Frigates, the RWI Reliant, gave inspiration and design ideas for the creation of the Phoenix-class.
A task force, which was sent to reinforce the recently attacked Epsilon Base, contained 3 Phoenix-class assault frigates which proved extremely useful in the resulting battle. The Phoenix Class has become monumental in securing several victories, most notably against the Shadows in the RWI-Shadow War.
